The Nolichuckey Valley Volunteer Fire Department was founded in 1972 for the purpose of protecting lives and property. The department started with 1 tanker and 18 members with a budget of $2,000. To date we have grown to 5 trucks that include 2 class-A pumper, 2 tankers, 1 brush truck, 30 members, and a budget of $100,000 annually. In 1972 the department answered 14 fire calls.
Last year the department answered over 100 emergency calls.
